ALL PHOTOGRAPHS CONTAINED ON OUR ORDERING WEBSITE ARE PROOFS AND SAY PROOF OR SHAWN MCMILLEN PHOTO AND ARE OWNED BY SHAWN MCMILLEN PHOTOGRAPHY AND PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT LAWS AND THE DIGITAL MILLENIUM COPYRIGHT ACT. TAKING OF OUR PROOFS AND USING THEM ON THE INTERNET, EMAILING THEM OR USING THEM IN PRINT IN ANY SHAPE, FORM OR FASHION IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. WE POST THE PHOTOS ON THE INTERNET FOR YOU TO VIEW THEM, ENJOY THEM AND POSSIBLY PURCHASE THEM. WE DO NOT WORK AT A SHOW, AND THEN GO HOME AND WORK TO GET THEM ONLINE SO YOU CAN TAKE THEM WITHOUT PAYING FOR THEM AND ARE  STARTING TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST THOSE THAT WE KNOW ARE IN BREACH OF COPYRIGHT LAWS.

This includes but is not limited to Facebook, MySpace, Sale Websites, Flyers Etc.  When you right click on a photo is says : All Copyrights are property of their respective owners. Below the proof it also states  Copyright © 20xx Shawn McMillen Photography  All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized reproduction prohibited by law. Circumventing the right click warning and ignoring the statement below each photo is acknowledgement that you are breaking the law.

We love what we do. To our loyal customers thank you for letting us do something we truly love, and supporting our product throughout the years.

To those of you that take our proofs, we are disappointed in you.  We tried to set ourselves apart as that company that left our proofs up without limit or reservation. We wanted you to be able to go back and look at them, we only asked that you didn't take them off our site.  Not only because you are breaking the law when you take our proofs, but your actions and inconsideration affect the people that work for us and for a time our business philosophy. You made us make a decision to put a time limit on photos and leave shows up for only a limited time.  When we started this journey we always wanted the customer to buy a photo because it moved them and because they wanted to buy it.  Not because they felt rushed or pressured to do so.  If we have to force a sale under pressure or duress then we would rather not have that sale at all.    Effective immediately all our shows are being returned to their pre password status. We will not let your illegal actions change our company philosophy or affect the masses.  If you see a password on an event it will be going away. This will take some time to transition out of. Please be patient.

We love what we do.  The internet theft will never stop. It will only get worse as the popularity of social sites increase.  Facebook is here to stay. People will continue to take our proofs. People can steal our proofs all day long but they will no longer steal the  philosophy of our being.  As of  February 16, 2010 all shows will be returning  back to pre-password status. Today our philosophy and honesty wins. We will no longer punish the masses for the actions of a few. If we wanted to be police we would have gotten into law enforcement.. Why the change? Simple… Because we love what we do.

WE ARE NOT ASKING THAT YOU PURCHASE PHOTOS SIMPLY THAT YOU DO NOT STEAL THEM!

I UNDERSTAND THE TAKING OF PROOFS OFF YOU SITE IS THEFT, AND THAT THE PHOTOGRAHER AND THEIR COPYRIGHT ARE PROTECTED UNDER FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS, PLEASE TAKE ME TO SEE MY PHOTOS.
